P R A I S E ||
Happiest Thanksgiving dear friends. Today on our way to Grammy and Grandpas we read from Psalm 148. A Praise Psalm to the Lord. (Seemed fitting for today!) I got stuck on verse 7, which says:
“Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps, fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word!”
… I couldn’t get past that thought.
I reflected on this year, the hurricanes, fires, floods, storms, wind- that has ravaged this nation. – and those things… doing according to the fulfilling of Gods word.
Praise the Lord!…. right?
Today in the quiet moments I was Meditating on the sovereignty of the Lord.
Questioning his way, yet Praising Him for being Just. Raising my eyes to him in confusion, and yet falling on my knees saying “Yes Lord, your will.”
The Storms external are fulfilling the word of the Lord.
Are we allowing the Storms internal (sometimes inflicted by the external) to fulfill the word of the Lord in our lives?
“Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars! Beasts and all livestock, creeping things and flying birds!
Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth! Young men and maidens together, old men and children!
Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above earth and heaven.”
Psalms 148:7-13 ESV
Praise Him! For He is a solid rock; a foundation to keep us from sinking.
Praise Him! For He is a shield, a shelter, a mediator.
Praise Him! He’s got the big picture.
Praise Him! He is JUST, sovereign, and zealous for He is Victorious.
Praise Him! He is bringing to completion this work he had already begun in our lives.
Through the fire, the storm, the deep waters and the raging winds…
Even if your Hallelujah is broken. Oh may your heart be found in his gentle loving hands.
Jesus came to bind those broken Hallalujahs and bring restoration, redemption and renewal through the Salvation of His son. The wind and the waves are fulfilling His word…
If you don’t know Jesus may your heart cry to understand; and may you listen. If you don’t know Jesus may you ask the questions and seek the only solid ground you will find in this frothing sea of life.
May you Christian, fulfill His will by obedience and steadfast faithfulness. Stand Firm. Stand Firm in Jesus. May he be your Pilot.
I am listening to Marian Jordan’s podcast series Jesus Is:__________ (today’s episode was Jesus is: Pilot) Click HERE to check out the series and more from Redeemed Girl Ministries…
In this episode Marian shares this old Hymn that spoke directly to the meditations of my heart today.
I will leave it with you tonight :
• 1. Jesus, Savior, pilot me
Over life’s tempestuous sea;
Unknown waves before me roll,
Hiding rock and treach’rous shoal.
Chart and compass came from thee;
Jesus, Savior, pilot me.
• 2. As a mother stills her child,
Thou canst hush the ocean wild;
Boist’rous waves obey thy will
When thou say’st to them, “Be still!”
Wondrous Sov’reign of the sea,
Jesus, Savior, pilot me.
• 3. When at last I near the shore,
And the fearful breakers roar
’Twixt me and the peaceful rest,
Then, while leaning on thy breast,
May I hear thee say to me,
“Fear not; I will pilot thee.”
